I'd like to say I'm dusting the cobwebs off my php knowledge this morning but in reality it's been so long that it's more like re-learning php. I'm hacking up a new addon for my #Friendica instance.

* installs app on smart phone for supposedly better experience
* provide email address for account sign-up (a hidden one I can toss)
* immediately receive email telling me I should install app for a better experience.

uh yeah thanks...

It’s that time again. Having a cookie and giving some blood. 🩸

One of my favorite moments from last night was seeing the drones do the countdown. Combined with the moon and the fog that was rolling it made for an interesting show.

Board game finished (I lost). Now time to pull myself together and head over to the #SeattleCenter to see what’s happening. 🎉

Nice to be home after spending the last week on the road visiting friends and family across 3 states. Alas too much to do this weekend to have any real downtime.

So far so good with the #Friendica update along with an updated #BlueSky addon. So now I shall wade into that corner of the inter-webs.

#Friendica instance updated, time to see how many things are broken and/or fixed. 😁

Turning on the #BlueSky plugin for cross-posting as an experiment. Not sure how long I'll leave it enabled but figure now is as good as time as any to dip my toes into that corner of that internet.

Hmm, the plugin might be broken. Oh well perhaps when the next release comes out.

It takes a special kind of person to dangle from a rope on the side of a skyscraper to clean windows.

I understand why mobile app devs do it, but the whole "Do you love this app" followed by a prompt to leave a review in the app store is really effing annoying.

I don't use #GitLab much these days but when I do it seems to get slower each time I go there.

2 beers or not 2 beers. That is the question of the moment. 🍺

Looking over the schedule for #seagl2023 and attempting to figure out what talks I'll be able to attend on Friday and Saturday. 😁

For today's bit of Halloween fun, I get to revisit some cursed code I wrote over 4 years ago as a temporary solution and is still being used in production today.
in reply to Morgan McMillian

On the upside, I should be able to migrate off of the last CVS repository I still manage by the end of the year. Hopefully.

Today I help some co-workers with understanding the importance of sanitizing input fields. Little Bobby Tables time!

So I finally got around to trying out containers in LibreWolf (Firefox). Don't know what took me so long, it's really handy.

TIL there is a Linux conference in #Seattle coming up and will be at the #UW campus called SeaGL. I think I'll have to see about dropping in on that.

Starting to feel normal again after getting my #COVID and flu shots. Not a great time but certainly a lot better than catching and spreading it.

Got the new #COVID #vaccine today along with the #flu shot. Let's see how my body handles it over the next couple of days.
in reply to Morgan McMillian

i got both of them 2 weeks ago and luckily i had no effects from them

I've really settled into the routine of taking the train to the co-working space in downtown #Seattle and overall I'm much happier for it. It's so much better than being forced to drive hours every day to an empty office building when I was in California.

I have the sudden desire to spin up a dos based #bbs like I used to access in my youth. I wonder if that’s possible these days.

Finally got an opportunity to make a blood donation today.

I’m tempted to buy yet another keyboard. This time looking at that Logitech MX mechanical mini. Basically looking for something portable that won’t wreck my hands. Anyone have experience with that one?

I gotta say I'm really enjoying running my own #Friendica instance again. The interface really works well for me and it's been rock solid. A huge thanks to those who've been working on this project over the years.

After relocating to Seattle a couple of months ago (personal choice) my employer is still dragging their feet on getting me a desk in the downtown office. My apartment is rather small so I'm giving co-working space a try. So far I'm kinda digging it. Gets me out of the apartment and I get to be around other people in a professional setting again.
